10 Examples of Eco Friendly Products 🌿
Sustainability has become a buzzword in recent years, and for good reason.
As we become more aware of our impact on the environment, many people are looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint and live a more sustainable lifestyle.
One way to do this is by choosing sustainable products.
To help you make the switch, here are 10 examples of sustainable products that can help you reduce waste and live a more eco-friendly lifestyle.
1. Toothpaste Tablets 🦷
Over one billion toothpaste tubes are thrown out in the US each year and, even more plastic toothbrushes. Chew on that statistic for second. Now, help solve the probleem by chewing on a toothpaste tab instead.
Our favourite brand for this is Bite, a California based brand selling fluoride free toothpaste tablets that eliminate the need for plastic when brushing your teeth.
2. Eco Friendly Cleaning Products 🧼
Cleaning our homes is an important part of maintaining a healthy and comfortable living space.
However, many traditional cleaning products contain harsh chemicals that can be harmful to both our health and the environment.
Choosing a cleaning brand that is free from plastic and harmful chemicals is a great way to be kinder to our climate. We love and stock the brand etee as their products are incredibly innovative and they're passionate about sustainability.
Check out our collection of Etee cleaning products here including dish soap, all purpose cleaner, and laundry detergent. All plastic free.

Etee (From the Earth, to the Earth)
"At etee, we're all about one thing: developing genuine solutions to plastic pollution, so that you can live more simply, sustainably and in greater harmony with our planet."
3. Water-Saving Showerheads 🚿
The energy used to manufacture and transport products is another important factor in their sustainability. Energy-efficient manufacturing processes and transportation methods can significantly reduce a product's environmental impact
For example, using renewable energy sources such as solar or wind power can help reduce a product's carbon footprint. In addition, designing products to be more energy-efficient, such as using LED lighting or low-power electronics, can also help reduce energy consumption.
Unfortunately, we are yet to sell these on Good People Inc. The more we can grow our platform, the more eco-friendly products we can offer. Support our platform where you can and watch it improve for everybody! Every cent we make is reinvested into making our sustainable marketplace better. 😇
4. Energy-Efficient Appliances ⚡️
Appliances like refrigerators, washing machines, and dishwashers consume a lot of energy, but energy-efficient models can help reduce your energy consumption and lower your electricity bills.
Look for appliances with Energy Star certification, which means they meet strict energy efficiency standards.
5. Plastic Free Shaving 🪒
Leaf Shave are a small business solving the huge problem of plastic waste in the shaving industry with 3 million + plastic razors being disposed in the US each year. We are so accustomed to plastic razors that even the apple emoji we used here is a plastic razor!!
Impressively, Leaf's razor isn't just more sustainable (thanks to it's plastic-free design and easily replaceable metal blades), it's genuinely a better razor than anything out there. One of the founders explained- "our goal is to increase accessibility to plastic-free shaving by making available options that simply work better.
Too often in the world of sustainable goods, users are asked to sacrifice efficacy in exchange for a lower footprint." Leaf proved with their Razor study that you'd experience a safer, closer shave using their razor compared to alternatives including plastic razors and traditional steel razors. Meaning this product isn't just more sustainable, it's functions better too.
6. Bamboo Toothbrushes
Millions of plastic toothbrushes are discarded every year in the US. The amount of plastic produced is unthinkable considering how easy it is to switch to a perfectly good replacement- a bamboo toothbrush.
Suri do offer a more sustainable electric toothbrush here, but if you're looking for a lower price point, toothbrushes like this one from Mable are a super easy replacement for a plastic toothbrush, and are pretty similar in price.
7. Solar-Powered Outdoor Lighting and Electronic Chargers🔆
Outdoor lighting can consume a lot of energy, but solar-powered lighting is a great alternative.
These lights use the power of the sun to charge during the day and light up at night, making them a great choice for outdoor spaces like patios and gardens.
The same goes for device charging. Why waste mains electricity when you can more sustainably and cheaply charge your phone using energy from the sun?
Again, this is another product we'd LOVE to have on our platform. As we grow, we aim to reinvest profits from sales into including more products such as these on our marketplace. <3
8. Bamboo Soap Dishes 🎋
If you're already using soap/shampoo/conditioner/shaving/dishsoap bars, we really recommend getting a good soap dish such as this one.
Simply put, it'll allow you to get more uses out of your bars. Meaning less waste and money saved! Simple stuff.
9. Reusable Coffee Cups/ Water Bottles
We don't need to tell you how much plastic waste is produced through coffee cups and wate bottles. It's an abhorrent amount and it's no surprise Coca Cola is repeatedly named the world's largest plastic polluter.
Switch to a KeepCup, Yeti, or something similar and reap the rewards of clean conscience as that trash can stays free of needlessly produced plastic bottles. Imagine how much plastic you save by using a keepcup for 100 days compared to 100 disposable coffee cups? Try to actually picture that!!
10. Recycled Toilet Paper 🧻💩
Traditional toilet paper is made from virgin paper and contributes to deforestation. Recycled toilet paper is made from post-consumer waste, making it a more sustainable choice.
Look for toilet paper that is packaged in recyclable materials to further reduce your environmental impact.
We recomennd WhoGivesaCrap, awesome brand who donate 50% of their profits to help build toilets.
